Help Keep the Story Alive

I am Luis Munroe—a born-and-raised New Yorker, Marine combat veteran, father, photographer, AI artist, and advocate living with PTSD.

A Veteran’s Cry began as a way to express what is difficult to put into words. Through photography, artwork, family photographs, videos, and public storytelling, I am documenting my life, preserving my family’s history, and sharing my continuing fight for my home, mental health, disability rights, and a new purpose.

Purchasing my artwork is the primary way to support this work. For anyone who would also like to contribute directly, every donation helps me continue creating, preserving, and sharing this story.

WHAT YOUR SUPPORT HELPS FUND

  • Preserve a New York Family Archive

Your support helps me digitize, organize, restore, and share the photographs and videos my parents took while I was growing up in New York City. These images preserve my family’s history and a changing East Village.

  • Create and Share Meaningful Art

Contributions help cover the materials, printing, framing, equipment, website costs, and production expenses needed to create and exhibit my photography and AI artwork.

  • Bring the Story to the Streets

Your support helps develop A Veteran’s Cry Street Gallery—a mobile gallery and storytelling platform that brings art, veterans’ experiences, mental-health awareness, and community advocacy directly to the public.

  • Continue the Fight

I am continuing to tell the story of my fight with NYU, my childhood home, my disability, and the challenges of standing up to a powerful institution. Support helps me document that journey, reach the public, and continue searching for the legal and professional assistance needed to move forward.

  • Build Something Bigger

My long-term vision is to create the United Veteran Center—a place where veterans can find community, creativity, purpose, information, and support. That vision is still developing, but every step taken today helps move it forward.

  • More Than a Donation

This is not only about helping one person through a difficult time. It is about preserving history, creating meaningful art, standing up for mental health and disability rights, and showing others that an adverse ruling does not have to be the end of their story.

On paper, it may look like I lost. But my story is not finished.

Thank you for believing in the work, supporting the journey, and helping me continue to create, document, and fight.
